At the Jacobs Institute for Design Innovation, I work as a Fellow, contributing to an interdisciplinary community where UC Berkeley students explore the intersection of design and technology. My role includes overseeing Makerspace operations, facilitating student projects, and promoting student engagement, with a focus on BIPOC and URM students.Key Responsibilities:Collaborate with the Student Supervisor team to ensure safe and productive use of the Makerspace, particularly during after-hours and weekends.Support Jacobs Project Support (JPS) operations, including fabrication and project pickup.Develop co-curricular programming tailored to the design and tech community at UC Berkeley.Lead campus outreach and social media efforts to promote Jacobs-related services and events.Organize and manage inventory for various projects and supplies.Conduct tours and provide in-person guidance at the Student Welcome Center.This experience allows me to engage deeply in design, technology, and equity while honing leadership and communication skills in an inclusive and dynamic environment.

As a Research Fellow in the Undocumented Research Cohort, I collaborated with a team of motivated undergraduates to address issues impacting undocumented members of our campus community. Supported by the Institute for Research and Labor Employment (IRLE), the Undocumented Students Program, and the Department of Ethnic Studies, we sought to challenge narratives surrounding undocumented individuals through research and advocacy.Key Responsibilities:Participated in weekly seminars and discussions focused on the experiences and challenges faced by undocumented people.Conducted reading assignments and engaged in critical discussions to inform our research.Led a group research project aimed at increasing public awareness and fostering institutional change.This experience deepened my understanding of the undocumented student experience and equipped me with research skills to contribute to social justice and equity efforts.

Actively participated in annual summer leadership workshops and Saturday college readiness programs. Engaged in community service and mentorship initiatives, fostering growth and leadership among high school students.
