I am currently a Research Associate at Heriot Watt University, working on video and image processing for medical device development.I previously worked as a KTP Associate researching a telepresence robotics project with Heriot-Watt University and Blackwood Homes and Care. My work involves the real world deployment of a robot autonomously navigating in a live care environment, and its integration with the existing digital infrastructure and building controls. This work involved highly technical development, but also working with, and designing with, non technical healthcare staff and those receiving care.I have completed a PhD at Heriot-Watt University, with research focusing on robotics and smart home technology for continuous, automated, sensorised, cognitive assessment in an Ambient Assisted Living environment. This research was undertaken at the Robotic Assisted Living Testbed (RALT), with research tied closely with partners in healthcare and assisted-living care facilities for elderly care. I was supervised by Dr. Mauro Dragone (HWU) and Dr Mario Parra Rodriguez (Strathclyde).My skill set encompasses a wide range of computing skills, including proficiency in Java, Python, Kotlin, ROS 1, various robotic simulators, robotic navigation libraries and platforms, and more. I also have experience developing, and integrating with smart home systems and BAU cloud digital infrastructures.
