I was appointed as Finance and Administration Manager with the following core targets (achieved successfully):i. Developing strategy to minimize cost: Developed measures to reduce un-necessary cost and analyse the avenues to control the imperative costs;ii. Develop competitive pricing strategy: Develop realistic pricing strategy to regain market share and become competitive in the market.iii. Optimising Cash-Cycle: Managed to improve the cash generation through better credit terms from suppliers and financing decisions from bank and re-paid the debts taken from Head Office over the past years 4 years.iv. Progress monitoring and reporting : Developed tools (KPI's) to monitor the progress of the restructuring and its out-come (e.g. Production variances, Shipment penalties, on-time deliveries etc.).v. Developing new ideas: To develop new ideas for improving the cost efficiency together with improving the performance through better processes/procedures. Following are the achievements: §  Sales forecast and planning software: Developed excel based software to help sales forecast more accurately and plan the raw materials, to reduce the stock out situations and inventory turn over days.§ Recycling rejected product: Developed with the plant manager, idea to start recycling the rejected finished goods to reduce the raw materials consumption.§ Seasonal purchases: Introduced the idea to buy bulk quantites of oil related products during low prices season instead of applying inventory formulas of economic order quantity.§ Product design efficiency: Worked with plant manager to improve the design of the product to consume lesser raw materials and lower specification primary and secondary packaging. As a routine, my responsibilities include:§  Monitoring Actual vs. Budget and vs. Forecast;§  Yearly Budgeting and monthly rolling forecast;§  Implementing group policies and procedures;§  Ensuring the adherence of departments to their assigned targets; etc.

The group is a private equity, and comprised of the following companies dealing with manufacture of: Industrial Tissue rolls - Abu Dhabi National Paper Mill (ADNPM); Carpets - Abu Dhabi National Carpet Factory (ADNC); and Medical devices, including syringes, needles, cannulas, etc. - Abu Dhabi Medical Devices Company (ADMD).The fourth company is a consultancy firm which provides business solutions, by the name of Business Enterprise Services (BES).As an Accounting and Treasury Manager, my role is to monitor the monthly results of all the abovementioned subsidiaries, through monthly analysis, including actual vs. budget trends, current vs. prior year, actual vs. forecasts, etc., monthly consolidation of the results using IFRS and overseeing the books of head office (ADNIP) and BES. Moreover, as Group Treasurer my responsibility include managing the group cash and avoid the financing costs by cash pooling and allocation of funds to the subsidiaries on the basis of weekly forecast, togetherwith ensuring the liquidity of the group and exploitation of short term investment opportunities.In addition to these, following are few of my principal responsibilities:  conducting reasonability check on the accounting procedures to ensure the consistency throughout the group. This includes identification of errors, and suggestions of solutions to rectify the errors; preparing and assessing the financial feasibility of projects and preparing reports with recommendation for CFO and CEO; ensuring the monthly and yearly book closure timeline throughout the group; centrally co-ordiante the group auditors both internal and external; budgeting, cost controlling and forecasting for ADNIP and BES cost; etc.As the group has recently implemented Oracle and Hyperion, I have worked as consultant for implementation of the Hyperion Financial Module (HFM), and am responsible for monthly consolidation through HFM for the group.
