As a Project Management Professional (PMP) with over 6 years of experience in the development sector, I am currently employed at the United States Institute of Peace (USIP) Pakistan Office. In my current role as a Program Manager, I co-manage the Building Peace in Pakistan portfolio and lead the Women, Peace, and Security component of our work. My primary responsibilities include establishing partnerships with civil society organizations and overseeing projects related to democracy, human rights, and governance. Over the past four years, I have successfully managed and concluded over 30 DRG-related projects, with a budget exceeding one million dollars.Before joining USIP, I was a Commonwealth Shared Scholar at the London School of Economics. My academic training is in development studies and for my master's dissertation I examined the Persistent Challenges to the Educated-Employed Women of Chitral. While studying at LSE, I was also involved with Worldwide Education Fund (WEF), a US based 501(c)3, as a Lead Consultant. I managed, supervised and concluded 7 projects in 3 different countries. My main contribution to the team was a successful implementation of an MBA Scholarship Program for students in Pakistan, Tajikistan and India. I was directly involved in the implementation of the program from designing the application to selection of scholars and guiding them through the admission and visa process.I am also the US State Department alumna and participated in the Near East and South Asian Exchange program (NESA) where I studied Women Studies at St Catherine University Minnesota. My bachelor's degree is in Gender Studies from Fatima Jinnah Women University and in my final project I explored the relations of patriarchy and concept of women’s freedom in Kalash valley. A strong believer in feminism, I successfully ran a social media campaign on Gender Equality for Decent Employment. I have been a member of various professional social networks including the first US Ambassador’s Youth Council, South Asian Youth Society, and Ispru Youth Forum.
