I led negotiations for professional service engagements at TELUS. My role involved developing vendor management strategies with a variety of internal business units for their management consulting, audit, service design, marketing, PCI compliance, cyber security, and telecom infrastructure needs. I negotiated significant savings, contributing to reduced capital and operating expenditures for a long-term, value driven approach. In addition to my work on procurement and strategic sourcing initiatives, I identified and mitigated intellectual property, privacy and confidentiality risks.Based on successes in professional services and initiative on complex deals, my role was expanded to include Tail Spend. This Tail Spend group systematically undertook the reduction of compounded low-spend transactions company-wide, some of which ballooned outside designated spend thresholds of the $300M+ portfolio. In this new role I trained and led the TELUS International team of 9 Vendor Managers to reach an average savings ratio of ~40%. I was also able to achieve the fiscal year's savings goal well in advance of Q2. For the duration of my term, I successfully completed over 50 engagements and projects with an average turnover time of 1.5 months.
