I designed and re-engineered OE and aftermarket products, planned and managed NPI processes to manufacture prototypes and then planned and led scaled production to meet customers' requirements, supporting the business as a manufacturing engineer to optimize processes. Responsibilities included:Project engineering and project management of the design, testing and manufacturing of projects from clients brief through to full-scale production.Reviewing customers' requirements or OEM prototypes, preparing engineering calculations and designs ensuring accurate specifications meeting performance and safety requirements. Presenting these for approval.Production engineering, selecting tooling, preparing CNC programs, managing prototype production and writing and executing tests to assess product quality and performance.Preparing full product specifications documentation including Production Part Approval Process (PAPP) and drawings. Submitting this with test data for customer approvals to manufacture.Selecting and developing manufacturing processes using new, existing or modified machinery and equipment. Providing advice to production and developing process improvements to enhance safety, quality and efficiency.Managing customer relationships and engagement with stakeholders across the business including sales, manufacturing, quality and logistics.

I started as a day-shift Production Team Leader and was also tasked with duties as a production engineer to deliver some process improvements. Responsibilities included:Planning and managing two production lines meeting the production schedule. Conducting quality checks and product audits to ensure compliance with specifications.Managing, training and coaching staff, implementing new SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and cross-training staff in different processes. Conducting analysis to identify opportunities to deliver continuous improvements and managing the scoping and implementation of changes to improve production efficiency and quality.

I worked as a production planning intern with Fresenius Medical Care within their GMP manufacturing facility in Sydney. I was responsible for generating production schedules to produce hemodialysis solutions using SAP, conducting production planning, raw materials planning, stock management and batch consumptions. I also implemented lean principles to deliver improvements and manage raw material batches on SAP to minimise waste.

I supported the planning and execution of marine excavation and dredging works for the Navy and construction projects and supported the major maintenance of equipment, engines, pumps, generators, gearboxes and other auxiliary items for the fleet of ships/dredgers.Responsibilities included analysing project information to prepare scopes of works, and specify equipment, internal resources and contractors.Executing all procurement for projects, preparing purchase requisitions to order equipment and materials.Monitoring day-to-day progress, engaging with the fitters to track daily activities and source photos to prepare progress reports.Planning and coordinating major maintenance, supporting mechanics in different workshops to maintain equipment efficiently.

I gained excellent exposure to best-practice supply chain management and process improvement within a lean manufacturing environment. This included coordinating with vendors, analysing processes and identifying opportunities to deliver improvements in inventory management and transportation timeframes.

This internship presented an excellent opportunity to work in the resources sector and I worked to support operations and R&D conduct explorations of gas fields in two remote areas. I was also tasked with reducing waste and achieved this by conducting load tests and inspecting the quality of meters used in the production plant.

This internship gave me great experience of strategies to use waste. I conducted studies to measure load testing process and calculate the generated electricity produced from wasted heat in cement production. This electricity was then used to power generators in an electricity production unit. I also worked on the repair of a conveyor belt.
