Hello everyone, my name is Saanvi Rao and I am a rising junior from Atkins High School in the Triad region of North Carolina. I am a passionate high school student in anything computer science and technology related, and I hope to major in computer science or data science in college! I started my coding journey just when I was in 4th grade and have been pursing a dedicated interest ever since. I am also a proud Girls Who Code student and have completed both the Summer Immersion Program and Self-Paced Program + started the club chapter at my school. I enjoy anything from math, computer science, and data science to psychology, finance, and politics. Self-Paced ProgramGirls Who Code Jul 2024 - PresentThe Self-Paced Program is similar to the Summer Immersion Program but is an asynchronous, 6-week program that introduces students to multiple branches of computer science including data science, website development, and cybersecurity. Each pathway has various courses and mini projects to complete depending on experience and level of interest, and introduces coding fundamentals in languages such as Python, Javascript, and HTML/CSS. I have completed the data science and web development pathway and hope to work more with those areas of technology in the future! -
Immersive Student ProgramGirls Who Code Jul 2023 - Aug 2023United StatesGirls Who Code is a free nonprofit organization which aims for girls and non-binary individuals to pursue careers in coding, computer science, technology, and the STEM field. The Summer Immersion Program, abbreviated as SIP, introduces individuals to the world of video game programming by teaching them basic coding principles in Javascript and p5.js. We also get to code our very own video games on a programming software called Replit and showcase what we learned at the end.
