Saba Hasan, a noted contemporary artist, has made contributions in technique and concepts in 27 years of art practice. She has developed a unique visual lexicon in painting and multiple media like photography, book installations, videos and voice works. Her sound installations comprise recordings of her own verse street sounds, one such is a part of John Adams sound piece at Met Brauer Museum, New York. Saba's short film, twilight on the lake (2018) has been screened at international festivals in Bali, the Kiran Nadar Museum and at the CFF New York. Her video death will come like a shadow (2021) was screened at the Fisura Experimental Film Festival, Mexico, at art film festivals of Berlin and Madrid. HONORS/AWARDSSaba Hasan has been awarded the Pollock-Krasner Grant 2022, the Raza Award for painting and fellowships from Syracuse University, the French Cultural Ministry, the George Keyt Art Foundation and the Oscar Kokoschka Academy in Austria.Her work was at the Venice biennale 2013 at the Imago Mundi collateral exhibition; her video La Verite/Haqeeqat/Truth was finalist for the Celeste Contemporary Art Prize 2015.
