Working on the Connect2 ESF funded programme in partnership with the Adult Education Service, this role is designed to work across the various Adult Education sites in the city, with individuals currently undertaking a learning qualification through the Adult Education Service. It involves working with a wide range of people from different backgrounds including BAME, people facing disability and mental health barriers, and single parents, to help support them in their journey into sustainable employment. As an experienced member of staff I am also involved in helping management with the auditing and claims processes, helping train and mentor new members of staff, and working with various community support organisations based within the city.

Coventry, United Kingdom

Working on the Coventry Ambition Work and Wellbeing programme funded by the ESF, in partnership with the NHS IAPT service. This role involved working with young people aged between 16-29 living in the Coventry area with mild/moderate mental health needs, working in partnership with the IAPT services. This is to ensure young people are receiving the support they need to be able to progress into positive destinations, whilst overcoming the barriers they face.

West Midlands

Working on the BBO Progress programme across Coventry and Warwickshire, working in partnership with leading partner Groundworks West Midlands. This involved working with young people aged 15-24 from disadvantaged/vulnerable backgrounds, including clients facing social/economical/mental health and disability barriers, ensuring they receive the support they need across the programme. This included working with a number of organisations including Citizen's Advice Bureau, Positive Youth Foundation and Hereward College. The support I provided included upskilling, building self confidence, mentoring, and specialist employment guidance, support and advice.

Job Shop Coventry

Working as a Trainee Project Officer I was responsible for carrying out initial assessments and registrations for people looking for support in finding employment, training or education. This involved reviewing CV's and discussing job opportunities within the Job Shop, and helping them apply. I was also responsible for the supervision and training/inductions of volunteers, setting up work experience placements, and carrying out assessments with clients for suitability of work experience in conjunction with the Job Centre Plus.Involved liaising with the Employment Team and Employer Hub teams within the Job Shop, and partner organisations on ESF funded employment support programmes.
