As Content Lead of Oraan I had the incredible opportunity to put all my previous experience to work in the exciting playground that is FinTech, and at that, FinTech designed for women. Arab News Pakistan was my first time reporting the news. It was a crash course in journalism, mobile journalism and learning the skills to find stories. As part of the launching team of Arab News Pakistan I learned so much about story-telling and strong reporting. I got to write features and introduce our audience to Pakistani culture, but also direct, produce and shoot original video story features and conduct live on-camera interviews.

As Editorial Assistant I got to ideate, research, and write original pieces for regular features. I got to interview leading individuals in the entertainment industry, influential subject matter experts and create international and domestic fashion related content. I worked closely with the Editor-in-Chief on copy for lifestyle, fashion, and runway coverage to media highlights.

In my role as an Editorial Intern, I actually go to do quite a lot! This was my first time working in media of any kind, and it was a dream come true. In my time as intern I was repsonsible for producing ‘Inside Stories’ for the magazine covering local and international celebrity, personality and relevant fashion news. I worked with the larger editorial team doing research, writing original questions for interview templates and assisting graphic designers on page layouts.

When I applied to Reddz Trading they actually were not hiring, but I walked in and asked if I could get a job there. I loved fashion and I was drawn to the store displays. Shortly after joining I was given the responsibility of in-store merchandising and began writing social media copy for their accounts, which would be my first time writing copy for the internet!
