About Sara Ball
In my work, I’m dedicated to creating connections and providing opportunities to create the community fabric of a sense of belonging, whilst embracing political, economic, and social issues impacting local communities. Naturally I found a love for all things community within Local Government and the propagation of best practice. Whether it’s delivering infrastructure such as major redevelopments of Casey Stadium and Casey RACE, programs and events from casual midnight hoops right through to international world cup tournaments and the Special Olympics or enhancing heavily utilised Council services like School Crossings optimisation and Compliance. At work, nothing makes me happier than assisting in the provision of health and wellbeing services and seeing meaningful partnerships formed, to work smarter, to achieve community outcomes and align priorities to organisational goals. Such as the development of Casey’s Reconciliation Action Plan or following the transition out of aged and disability services, Council’s reinvestment of the Living and Ageing Well Plan, underpinned by the World Health Organisation’s Age-friendly Communities and Cities Framework, which enables provision of all residents to live and age well in place. I enjoy the art of life long learning and am curious by nature. An authentic and energetic leader, promoting a shared leadership ethos, I foster an empowered team culture and love collaborating whether its large scale projects, strategies to enhance community outcomes or seizing opportunities to create sustainable future focused solutions. And if you have time for a coffee, I'm always happy to talk about the importance of inclusion and allyship on all things LGBTIQ+, reconciliation and gender equality, sustainable renovations preserving mid-century homes, why Costa and Gardening Australia is a mental recharge, and where the best hikes and pizza can be found in Melbourne. I value a laugh and there’s no need to focus on work all the time.
