Communities In Schools is the nation's largest high school dropout prevention organization and the leading provider of Integrated Student Support Services. In Los Angeles, Communities In Schools is addressing the dropout crisis modifying the fundamental way in which student supports are delivered to schools and families in our city. We work within public school systems, establishing relationships with superintendents, principals, educators, and community partners to address both individual student as well as school-wide needs.

[Start-up in Social Network/Sports Industry] We built a Drupal-based, social recreational sports website, Sportify.com with a mission to connect people to play sports; the LinkedIn for playing sports. Co-founded Sportify in December 2011, raised $300,000 in debt capital and sold to SearchCore, Inc. for $500,000 in December 2012.

[Public Company Start-up] We launched a Drupal based, large-scale intra-University media portal in China. We licensed sports related content in the U.S. and Europe and distributed in China via our University portal named Koobee. We successful attained an advertising licensing in China. I was part of the core group and helped both with the development and launch of the website in China, setting up the broadcast link (for broadcasting content via satellite) including deploying servers, as well as handling all of the SEC filings. I also maintained relationships with investors, regulatory bodies and independent auditor. I was responsible for all SEC filings (8K, 10Q, and 10K filings), analysis and financing strategies for our M&A activities, developing our Business Plan and PPM. I managed cash flows in U.S as well as in our Hong Kong and Beijing subsidiaries. I helped set up and run our subsidiaries in British Virgin Islands, Hong Kong, and in Beijing, China.

[Start-up Media Company] We launched a Spanish language distribution company successfully attaining 7 SKUs at Wal-Mart with over 900 stores with our DVDs on their shelves. We had over 200 Spanish language films in our licensed content library. We produced and or licensed Spanish language content from Mexico and distributed them in the U.S. through nation wide retailers like Wal-Mart, Food-4-Less, Best Buy, Blockbuster, K-Mart, and hundreds of independent video outlets across the United States of America and Canada.

[Start-up Public Company Payments Network] I was part of the core group and we successfully created a next generation payments network enabling remittances at under $2 price point regardless of remittance amount.

Responsible for all UCLA Outreach, AAP Eligibility, & Summer Programs student staff assignments. Provide administrative support to the Director in the planning and organizing of the UCLA AAP Freshman and Transfer Scholars’ Days and UCLA AAP Summer Programs with 900-plus attendees at each event. Included accounting and research activities with collection, analysis, and management of data. Managed the hiring, training, supervision and evaluation of student support staff.
