My main objective in teaching English was to conduct research on teaching the English language through a decolonial approach. During my time in this position, I taught for four days and conducted my action research, which proved to be an incredible experience. I witnessed the students' confidence in speaking English grow, and they were highly motivated to incorporate their indigenous languages within an English context.By adopting a decolonial approach, I aimed to empower students to embrace their linguistic diversity and challenge traditional language hierarchies. This approach not only fostered a strong sense of cultural identity but also facilitated a more inclusive and engaging learning environment.Through the implementation of innovative teaching methods and tailored language activities, I encouraged students to explore and utilize their indigenous languages while developing their English proficiency. This approach helped them to embrace their unique linguistic backgrounds, fostering a deeper connection to their heritage.The experience of teaching English through a decolonial lens not only enriched my understanding of language education but also highlighted the transformative power of inclusive pedagogies. I had the incredible opportunity to teach mathematics to 10th-grade students, and it was truly an enriching experience.
