Instituted automotive LiDAR as the key new business focus for Princeton Lightwave. I led, developed and executed Princeton Lightwave's automotive LiDAR strategy. Accomplishments include defining the LiDAR product strategy, leading development teams, project and revenue delivery on a LiDAR development contract for one of the largest global automotive OEMs, and development of significant relationships within the automotive customer and optics supplier communities. Built and grew Princeton Lightwave's mindshare and reputation within the automotive industry. staffed and grew organizational capabilities and IP in automotive LiDAR.2 patents granted, 1 pending in area of automotive LiDAR. My effort was instrumental in the sale of the company, through an intensive transaction process. I led, developed and presented major portions of the presentation materials to prospects, including market strategy, competitive analysis, technology, product design and financial analyses. I led comprehensive demonstrations of the technology for prospective acquirers, a critical success factor in the sale process.

Pivoted Princeton Lightwave into the automotive LiDAR business. Developed strategy, and communicated key aspects of PLI technology and core competencies across automotive OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers and technology companies, and internally with the board, management and employees. Secured significant revenue and development contracts within the automotive sector. Simultaneously, led operational, product management, sales and product development functions within company across military, industrial and communications businesses. Balanced development and operational resources to achieve profitability, achieved profitability and initiated and nurtured skunk work effort with a small team to create the automotive LiDAR opportunity for the company.

Led multiple product developments, with successful transfers into manufacturing for optical component and sub-system products. I also led integration of a team through a company acquisition into the Princeton Lightwave organization. Built team and grew multiple people into managerial positions. Secured multiple industrial contracts for developing optical products in areas such as food sorting, telecommunications and medical optics.

Initially responsible for product development of 2.5 Gb/s and 10 Gb/s optical receivers at Epitaxx. Company got acquired by JDSU in 2000, and I was responsible responsible for product development of all active components including receivers, modulators, pump lasers and transmission lasers. Built and integrated teams across 4 global sites, with a total of 125 direct engineering reports. Consolidated locations and organizations during telecom downturn, transferred products to low cost manufacturing locations.

Management consulting involving business process re-engineering within large telecommunications clients. Executed complete logistics and inventory management business and IT processes for Nextel Communications in concert with their CFO and CTO office. Similar effort for Avaya (Lucent) in areas of disaster management and preparedness for Y2K.

During this period, AT&T was entering the local access market. I was responsible for network engineering and construction across 5 cities in the United States, including Chicago, Seattle, San Francisco and Los Angeles. Implemented network designs based on market and customer information, secured access to facilities through negotiations with cable, electric and local telcos as well as large MDU property owners. Developed policy regarding access and right of way costs for legal teams. Managed 22 people across 5 locations. Nominated for AT&T Leadership Development Program.

Developed products for fiber optic telecommunications. Developed the first undersea pump laser, which dramatically improved product and service reliability of undersea communications networks. Also worked on key packaging and laser welding technology for low cost optical data links, CATV and FTTH networks. Developed design for next generation optical products which emphasized manufacturability and reliability, developed innovative new process for sub-micron fiber alignment, hermeticity and reliable optical packaging.Secured 2 patents on optical packaging technology
