In addition to my role as Head of the CMC department I am now also responsible for running the Breda site as part of the leadership team. With in total 3 members in the Site Leadership team we are running all aspects of the business at Breda, such as HR, Finance, Business Development and Marketing. I report directly to the CEO which makes fast decision making possible. I do have ideas on how to grow the business and make Venn a succesful company and therefore I am really happy to be able to actively contribute to that as Site Leader.

In this role I combine managing of the CMC department with my role as Sr. CMC consultant. The combination of these 2 roles makes it possible to stay close into contact with the clients, maintain operational experience and use this (among others) to optimize the knowledge and capabilities of the CMC department. Pharmaceutical development is very diverse with respect to the expertise required. It is not possible to have all the required knowledge/skills in one person. Therefore, a very important aspect for clients is that the CMC department act as one team with many skills.

In this role I serve the clients in the areas of Project management, CMO selection, drug product development, drug product manufacturing, lyophilization and process optimization for both small and large molecules. With respect to documentation I can write technical reports and CMC parts of a dossier. I have experience in early and late phase pharmaceutical development and manufacturing of clinical supplies. I am flexible and work for clients located globally. Depending on the needs of a client I work remote or on site. If requested I can also perform visits and have technical discussions (with for example a CMO) on behalf of the client. In my former positions as Technical Integrator at J&J, CMC-lead at Abbott and sr. scientist at Solvay I acquired a lot of knowledge about vaccines, drug product development process and their technical challenges. I have experience in development of BCS class I to IV drugs, parenteral formulations, cytotoxic agents, oral solid dosage forms and lyophilized products. I also have manufactured GMP batches in a clean room environment and have been project lead of multidisciplinary teams.I always try to develop myself in technical area's (broadening my knowledge) as well as personal skills.
