Sabina Rogers leads on knowledge management for the ACTION Secretariat and provides support to the team in a number of ways. A gymnast for 9 years, D3 collegiate diver for 3 years (top 8 at Nationals my senior year), and always an aspiring coach -- I am finally living my best life. I lead trampoline classes for first timers and long-time acrobats. I love the experience of tweaking a good trick to make it fabulous, and I always want my students to enjoy the experience. Evolving role over six years involved managing organization-wide communications as well as the State of the Campaign Report and the Financing Healthier Lives programs. Specific responsibilities included,Managing a 2-person team to produce the annual State of the Campaign Report:- Oversaw the collection and verification of poverty outreach data from top microfinance institutions;- Supervised the data analysis, report compilation, and launch of five Reports; launched website in four languages (English, French, Spanish, and Arabic) to create a more interactive online resource.Managing the Financing Healthier Lives program in India and the Philippines:- Supervised work of Regional Director and processed contractor MOUs and invoices;- Liaised with partners and supported fundraising and coalition building for project expansion;- Managed a 2-year grant to scale maternal and child health education and health care in the Philippines, with a focus on disseminating learnings and securing commitments for further expansion of integrated health and microfinance projects.Developing and implementing a communications strategy across the Campaign:- Coordinated regular distribution of an e-newsletter (Campaign Bulletin) and other special messages and led the Campaign’s social media efforts and blogging;- Produced and distributed press releases about Campaign events, publications, and other announcements, and supervised work with PR firm contracted for the 18th Microcredit Summit;- Supervised or assisted in the creation of the Campaign’s six websites;- Strengthened the Campaign’s identity by applying a cohesive style and brand image across platforms.Contributing to the strategic planning of the Campaign:- Participated in annual planning sessions for the Campaign and for the Health and Microfinance Alliance, a partnership between the Campaign and Freedom from Hunger;- Contributed to a re-branding process to decide on a potential new name and identity for the Campaign.

As Program Manager of the State of the Campaign Report, I managed the collection of Institutional Action Plans (IAP) and data analysis as well as the Report compilation, publication, and launch process. I supervised the annual call campaign in which Campaign staff target the top 500 microfinance institutions (MFIs) to submit their IAP—through which members report annual data on their client portfolio and outreach to the poorest.

As the Knowledge Management/Communications Coordinator, I was responsible for developing and maintaining an overall strategy for sharing knowledge with various constituents and for putting that knowledge into action. Specifically, I redesigned the member working group process to invigorate participation and capture and disseminate best practices for a global audience. Work with consultants to identify the content, delivery mechanism and outreach needed for each topic and products.

Provide program management support to the Capacity Building Team and the Practitioner Learning Program.

- Directed organizational outreach and marketing to key stakeholders: potential donors, partners, volunteers and sports communities in the US.- Generated donations of more than $10,000 in new and used equipment to distribute in the 2006 Kabul Sports Clinic.- Managed the 2007 Kabul Sports Clinic, reaching more than 250 Afghan youth and built the capacity of local sports federations (totaling $25,000) in which I coordinated the logistics of a basketball clinic - Organized an afternoon soccer tournament for 13 girls soccer teams that was sponsored by the US Embassy in Kabul (totaling $1200).

Managed inquiries from American students, updated content for the department’s web page, assisted coordination of Embassy events, and provided administrative assistance.

- Founded the Girls’ Education Committee of Kpélé-Elé and organized nine community awareness-raising events reaching 2000 members of the community.- Organized the Agbanon Summer Sports and Education Day Camp for 180 youth and their parents.- Created a school peer educator program and training manual that trained 66 students and teachers in four schools on the importance of girls' education, women’s rights, reproductive health, and HIV/AIDS (totaling $1,000).Program Manager & Co-Founder, Union for the Empowerment of Women (UAPF)- Developed and implemented two community projects (totaling $4,000) that trained 43 community members as advocates of gender equity, health and HIV/AIDS awareness, and income generating activities. - Monitored and evaluated UAPF’s project planning, implementation and sustainability and gender inclusion.- Developed a weekly educational radio program broadcast to approximately 10,000 rural African villagers.
