My love for fashion started at a young age. I would often remodel myclothes on my mother’s sewing machine. My mother was quite the perfectionist and couldn’t always appreciate my reckless attempts.For me , it was just a matter of ‘Must”This stubbornness still resonates in my designs.After various stops along the way, I found my place at HUMANOID. Ideveloped from a creative designer to a creative lead. There I wasresposible for four collections per year. Among other tasks, I wasable to inspire the design team, compile colour and mood boards andselect fabrics. I worked there for 14 years with great pleasure. TheKroller-Muller collection, introduced in 2021, was one of the manyhighlights. HUMANOID celebrated its 40th anniversary then.The collection designed based on archive pieces is something I willnever forget.The time came to independently explore what else I could and wantedto do . This led me to tiSHoo (a playful variant of the word tis-sue), which stands for connection, texture and the fabric. From myown studio , connections can be made, unique items and small productions created. By thinking into chapters instead of collectionstiSHoo breaks the current fast-fashion system. Additionally tiSHooembraces natural materials and emphasises sustainability, authentichandmade products.In truth, it never felt like work as it was just a privilege to dowhat I loved doing most.I hope to inspire others into exploring new challenges together, tolook and go just beyond what feels comfortable. Or to simply choose a different path and enter into new interestingcollaborations
