About Sabreen Alam

Sabreen Alam is a CBE @ Princeton | Microsoft Research Intern at Princeton University. She is proficient in Arabic. Colleagues describe her as "I have had the great pleasure to mentor Sabreen in the summer of 2022 as an intern in our Modernization team here at Optum. In my earliest encounters with her, she distinguished herself as a self-guided learner who is easy to collaborate with. She was no stranger to asking for materials ahead of time, demonstrating that a later start to the internship would be no obstacle to her learning. I remember during our earliest intern standup meetings, Sabreen was one of the first volunteers to work on the UI we were trying to develop. This momentum did not slow down. Over the course of the internship, she made sure to cement herself as a subject matter expert of graph technologies we were trying to use. I remember her providing me various approaches and alternative solutions on what technology stack we could use. The technology stack that we ended up using is something that we use today, in the updated version of the project, and I believe that it has created a strong foundation for the new features we plan to complete. I have no doubt that Sabreen will contribute to any workplace she is a part of: industry, academia, or otherwise."
