Recent graduate from Conestoga College in the Architecture - Project and Facility Management program. This program focuses on project and facility management along with an strong understanding of architecture. This program has provided me with a wide variety of knowledge in topics such as sustainable building design, cost estimating, the Ontario Building Code, structural systems, and building systems.Additionally, I have gained the ability to create floor plans, elevations, and site plans using AutoCAD and Revit. This experience was gained through the computer concepts class and through the creation of projects in my studio class. I have further improved my skills with Revit through my previous co-op placement working at Allan Avis Architects, where I assisted with drawings for various residential and commercial projects. Furthermore, I am skilled at using of MS Word and MS Excel.I am also proficient in communication both written and verbally. This skill was developed during my Communication and Technical Writing class and at my time working at Allan Avis Architects and Sommer Brothers Construction Company. While working with the Sommer Brothers I acquired a great deal of experience working on job sites and an understanding of how projects are organized. Lastly, I am very passionate about sustainable design. This passion has been gained throughout my life as I have always desired to reduce my impact on the environment. This passion was further developed during the Energy and Design course in the program. This class focuses on LEED and ASHRAE 50 and how to achieve those standards through building design.
