  In a time when e-commerce is becoming the dominant platform for sourcing home decor and social media channels are providing consumers with decorating styling and advice the needs of a traditional furniture retailer have changed. We must be constantly learning and adapting systems and opportunities to engage with consumers in new and inventive ways. While my primary function is Financial Analysis Budgeting and reporting, my day to day roles involve Customer Service and Sales Support as well as Software Development and integration. Cost management in products as well as logistics and business overhead are ever more important and involve intense analysis and negotiation as we evolve towards this new way of buying and selling. As e-commerce involves less direct contact with consumers we must employ more inventive and intuitive merchandising methods which require significantly more technical skill as well as knowledge base of multiple platforms. Integration, API, cost management, social media presence, layered product options, price point knowledge and research of competition, the shift is monumental but the potential limitless with the right formula and continued growth. We continue to engage customers with our unique in store auction formula and with new and unique product offerings, and this requires its own cost management and budget analysis. As CFO I am tasked with preparing and changing antiquated softwares with new cost effective and integrated technologies to keep costs in line with emerging sales strategies and initiatives while also maximizing returns. There is always something to learn and there are constant innovations developing, it is a new and exciting way of doing business and I enjoy the continued growth and opportunities presented in my day to day role.
