Sabrina has over 30 years of experience in public health with 28 years at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). During this time, Sabrina has held a variety of increasingly responsible positions throughout the agency. Since 2018, she has been the Team Lead for Acquisitions Management in the Center for Global Health, Division of Global Health Protection. She manages contracts and payable interagency agreements.In Sabrina’s previous position, as a Senior Public Health Advisor in the Office of Public Health Preparedness and Response (now the Center for Preparedness and Response) Division of State and Local Readiness in the Healthcare Preparedness and Response Team. She was responsible for the budget, contracts, and human resources. During her career, Sabrina has served as Acting Associate Director for Policy and Acting Associate Director for Communication. Sabrina is particularly proud of her work with the National Diabetes Education Program (NDEP) where she was Acting Director and Deputy Director. NDEP is a joint initiative of CDC and the National Institutes of Health. The program develops diabetes messages and materials for a wide variety of targeted audiences and populations. It includes a partnership of over 200 public and private organizations. During her tenure, the program won several awards such as the Best Medal given by the American Diabetes Association and the Directors of Health Promotion and Education, National/Regional Collaboration Award for working with partners to improve treatment and outcomes of diabetes in families, communities and health care systems. Sabrina has held other assignments such as being a project officer during CDC’s initial work in bioterrorism preparedness and response. She also has experience working in a local health department.
