Responsible for directing Career Development Services department which includes academic education and career technical training. Adheres to all Department of Labor and Company policies and procedures. Establishes and maintains close communication with the Center Director and administrative staff. Acting as Center Director when needed. Maintains confidentiality but reports significant events or situations immediately.Ensures equipment and assigned work areas are clean and maintained in accordance with Center, Company, and Department of Labor standards, including conducting quarterly property counts.Conducts interviews of perspective new employees and makes recommendations for, or against hire, based on state and federal laws, and company policy.Conducts formal performance evaluations for staff under supervision in a timely manner and provides regular and ongoing performance feedback.Responsible for the performance management of all employees under supervision including issuing Behavior Modification Agreements in conjunction with Human Resources.Responsible for initiating and reviewing student records, student files, case notes, forms, and reports. Ensures they are complete, timely, and in compliance with Department of Labor and company polices.Supervises Career Development staff which may include CPP, Academic Instructors, CTT Instructors, CTT Manager, Academic Manager.Ensures that the Center maintains the highest level of data integrity in all reporting of Center statistics and metrics. Ensures full implementation of the Quality Assurance Plan & Procedures as appropriate.Plans, prepares, and responsible for operating within approved budgetsReceives weekly, monthly, and annual reports and verifies accuracy. Trains and cross-trains staff.Develops and updates the Center’s Career Development Plan and other Standard Operating Procedures.

Develops and implements Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Center Operating Procedures (COP). Ensures the department follows all DOL, Corporate, and Center requirements.Oversees the Outreach and Admissions and Career Transition Services Contracts: Ensures that the OA and CTS contracts are administered within the DOL, Corporate, and Center guidelines. Ensures that the OA and CTS contracts exceed goals. Ensures the Centers operate at 100% of contracted on-board strength. Promotes positive Job Corps image and awareness in the community. Develops referral services. Recruits eligible youth to the program. Maintains compliance with DOL, Corporate, and Center policies.Performs responsibility for placement and transitional services: Ensures that 100% of graduates and former enrollee placement and transitional services are being provided. Highlights:Meeting recruitment goals with a ranking of 21 out of 97 in the nation for program year 2022Meeting career transition goals with a ranking within the top 50% in the nation for program year 2022Establishing partnerships for program enhancement with local schools, colleges, foster care programs, and youth programsSuccessfully met the Department of Labor's enrollment expectations within the prescribed deadline of September 2022.Successfully started a new department with Springdale Job Corps, hiringemployees, designing an office space from a pre-existing building and creatingcomradery by meeting goals while simultaneously fostering a positive andenjoyable atmosphereOrganized, hosted and executed a Gresham Chamber of Commerce meeting onthe Springdale campus with over 50 attendees.

Provide students with career technical training instruction, direction, and assistance in Protective Services.Motivate and counsel students in areas of behavior, training, personal problems, or study habits.Coordinate with career development services and other staff as necessary to resolve issues affectingstudent training. Develop and prepare lessons; recommend curricula changes and supplemental materials.Utilize workplace language and behavior expectations when working with clients and classroom, on aroutine basis, inquire if individual students need assistance.Participate on evaluation panels; prepare required documentation in a timely manner.Highlights:Managed to overhaul curriculum for a lower performing Protective Services program, making it a well respected and performing program in the community. Successfully partnered with Hillsboro Police Department, Multnomah County Sherriff's Department, and Securitas for job placements and trainings.
