Safety Advisor for the Northern Region providing support and expertise on subject matter. This includes acting as a subject matter expert during meetings and assessing ideas through the corporate safety lens to further support the regional leadership team. Ensuring that all S&R and business unit goals and objectives are met. Ensuring effective field health and safety technical training support to day-to-day operations. IInterim Role due to a parental leave - Advancing GDS commitment to the safety of our employees through the effective delivery of safety programs and initiatives, while leading a team who is the 'first point of contact' for the safety support at the field levels (STO, Eastern, Northern, Southeast, and Southwest). Lead the Incident, Learning and Prevention program along with tracking of safety performance. Provide subject matter expertise on safety incident investigations and support development of effective corrective actions.During the interim role my specific accountabilities included:- Biweekly team and individual meetings with members of the regional safety advisors- Attending meetings and providing support with incident investigations program (event reviews, health services meetings, investigations team meetings, driving safety, projects, REWS, provide update at the meetings for safety)- Providing business unit performance information (month end reports, monthly senior leadership report, SLiA review and reminders, director of safety report monthly report)- Provide assistance and guidance with the MP04 review (quarterly meetings and the MP04 JHSC reviews)- Provide safety leadership team updates and support (bi-weekly meetings with manager of safety, weekly meetings with the supervisor of safety regions – GTA)- Provide monthly safety communication package review (enterprise operational safety meeting, S&R leaders meeting) to senior leadership
