Oversee all new patient's seeking to come to CTCA for evaluation/treatment. I complete an extensive phone interview with each patient prior to coming to CTCA and evaluate each patient for safety pertaining to current health and potential traveling. Once patient arrives for intake I assist/coordinate the care with the intake physicians until the patient reaches treatment plan. As nurse navigator I input patient information in the EMR to update patient information such as care team, nursing problems, physican contact information, and preferred pharmacy. I also communicate with other team members such as medical oncologists, nutritionists, naturopathic physicians, and mind body therapists in providing best patient care.

This position consisted of direct nursing care for a nursing ratio of 1:1 or 1:2 related to the acuity of the patient. Assisted in recovering cardiac patients, admitting new patients to the unit, discharges to acute care facilities/rehabilitation centers, accepting and transferring patients' to different units. Coordniated care with other RNs, physicians, respiratory therapists, and nutritionists. As a RN, I advocated for my patients, managed IV drips, administered medications, assisted with Codes, managed tube feeds, and managing ventilated patients- per orders.

I managed patient care and advocated for my patients consisting of a variety of illnesses/diagnoses. Maintained physician orders such as wound care, dressing changes, post surgical assessments, administering medications, managing tube feedings, reporting to other physician and care team members for patient needs. I received my biotherapy/chemotherapy certification to administered chemotherapy.
