Windmill Point Resort was under construction during my time there. In addition for being responsible for the network supporting the small staff at the time, I was responsible for the design and implementation of all technology-related aspects of the property, which included condos, hotel rooms, 2 restaurants, a marina, retail shops, plus all the support infrastructure.Some of the systems I was responsible for include a property management system for the hotel rooms, a marina management system, point of sale systems, telephone system, television distribution, electronic access control, electronic surveillance, monitoring of the wastewater treatment plant, security and fire monitoring. I handled everything from specifying wiring between and within buildings to software and hardware selections.

At Williams Consulting, I was responsible for designing both hardware and software for our clients. Systems ranged from small embedded microcontrollers programmed in assembly to full linux systems running on custom hardware. Many times this necessitated custom kernel development and debugging prototype systems. Development was done both independently and in small teams. For my last 5 years, I was additionally responsible for interviewing, hiring, and supervising co-op students and interns.
