The FHASOF is a multi-mission ground segment designed to support small satellites, the ARISS program at the International Space Station (ISS), and UHF weather satellites. It also provides support to governmental, amateur radio, and university satellites. The FHASOF ground segment serves as a platform for the education and training of students in mission operations. Additionally, I teach topics related to astrodynamics, mission operations, design, and execution at the Institute of Space Technology at the University of Applied Sciences of Aachen. My work includes- Management of the FHASOF multi-mission ground segment- Supervision of R&D projects related to mission operations and control- Preparation and Supervision of several satellite missions (governmental and non-governmental)- Tracking of weather satellites NOAA-15, NOAA-18, NOAA-19, and METEOR-2M- Flight Direction of several satellite missions- Recruiting and training of the student mission operations crews

  • Stadoko Ug (Haftungsbeschrängt)
    Project Manager Wren Pocketqub Satellite
Stadoko Ug (Haftungsbeschrängt) Sep 2012 - Dec 2014
Kreisfreie Stadt Aachen Und Umgebung, Deutschland
My first access to satellite communications and spacecraft operations began with the WREN space program. The WREN mission outfitted the very first 1p-Pocketqube satellite that made it into space. I became the project manager of this space mission, in which I also was involved as a flight controller during operations. The fascination for space flight control rooms has never left me ever-since and amplified my childhood dreams about space. The WREN Orbiter mission has been successfully injected into orbit on the 21. November 2013 at 08:21 UTC abord a DNEPR-1 rocket from Dombarowski Cosmodrome Jasny, Orenburg Russia. The WREN mission has been performed for 5 months with great success and has finally been completed in April 2014.In a nutshell, my work consisted among others in the following tasks:- Responsible for the registration (IARU, BNetzA)- Execution, monitoring, and documentation of acceptance tests data package and the space debris mitigation- Supervision of the satellite integration into satellite UNISAT-5- Development of the TT&C software- Mission Operations

Key-developer of a scaffold for the regeneration of peripheral nerves and co-manager of the nerve regeneration project BioChance +. During this time I developed the implant for peripheral nerve regeneration "Epimaix" - in close cooperation with the Department of Plastic Surgery and the Hand and Burn Surgery at the University Hospital of the RWTH Aachen (UKA). In a second research project, I actively contributed to the development of an artificial ureter (project Ureplace) in close cooperation with the Department of Urology of the UKA, the Laboratory of Cell Biophysics of the FH Aachen, and the company "High-tech Zang". I was also technical manager during the development of an artificial vein in close cooperation with the company PharmaCell (project: Intact). With the Department of Ophthalmology of the UKA, I also worked out a novel analysis method for the evaluation of the diffusion properties of flat fibrous collagenous regeneration matrices.further work included:- Research & development in the field of regenerative tissue engineering- Manual manufacturing of scaffolds at the millimeter scale- Assistance at the operation theatre during in-vivo implantation and explantation of scaffold prototypes- Product development of medical devices under cleanroom class 8 and 7 condition- Development of data acquisition and automation applications- Student worker (2005 – 2007)I have also been filmed for a Scientific journal: https://youtu.be/whxpj81jWfs?t=78
  • Department Of Process-Control Fh Aachen University
Software Developer Labview (Student Research Assistant)
Department Of Process-Control Fh Aachen University Oct 2004 - Jan 2005
    Aachen
The establishment of a LabVIEW application lab has been my first involvement in a major project. I was involved from the beginning, in the conceptual planning of the test benches and the network environment, in the setup of the test benches, including developing their respective software, up to the execution of the functionality tests. Everything had to be done under time pressure so that the lab was available for the students on time the following semester. I wrote exclusively on my own, the software controls of the whole laboratory equipment. The lab was designed to connect all devices to their LabVIEW applications via RS232-com-server, TCP, or OPC-DA connection. Interesting was that most of the devices were not networking-capable. For that purpose, I designed special servers, located in the devices' vicinity, which allowed me to connect the control application designed as a client running on a computer somewhere in the lab's network. So the user or student could log onto the experiment from his school desk and operate it remotely. In 2004, this was already a small sensation in the department of process automation at the FH Aachen! After setting up this lab, I had the pleasure of co-supervising the seminar. Students are taught hands-on how to acquire data from balances, pH, and conductivity meters in the lab and pilot plant. The students then learn about and configure data acquisition cards and Fieldbus. In simple preliminary experiments, voltages and currents are measured, analog signals are output, and relays are switched. The next step is to measure and control variables such as temperature, pressure, and conductivity. In the video just below, this application laboratory is shown during a class that I supervised together with Prof. Kotter
