- UNICEF Ambassador - South Asia for Hygiene and Sanitation since 2013. This unique role allows him to be a voice heard by both children and their parents, and a highly effective messenger to spread the word about better.
- Ambassador, Swacch Bharat - He is also the ambassador of the Swacch Bharat Abhiyan, a campaign by the Government of India to clean the streets, roads and infrastructure of the country's 4,041 statutory cities and towns.
- Associated with Spreading Happiness, an initiative that involves tapping solar energy to generate electricity for homes that do not have access to the grid or other solutions for basic electricity.
- Nominated Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) from June 2012-June 2018. Adopted the village of Puttamraju Kandriga in Nernuru gram panchayat near Nellore in Andhra Pradesh under the aegis of the Sansad Adarsh Gram.
