Canvassing and managing a portfolio of corporate clients

Responsibilities and skills:Managing the bank's relationship with a portfolio of local financial institutions Manage the relationship with local/ foreign counterparts of the Bank to ensure smooth processing of the Bank's transactions, ensuring maximum profitability to the Bank through minimizing correspondent charges and assisting in setting up inter bank lines for Trade and Treasury departments.Evaluate credit risk which involves preparation of comprehensive Credit Evaluation Reports (Credit Proposals) with in depth analysis of financial, market/industry, business and macro risks Carrying out detailed credit appraisals on the portfolio's existing and new clients and preparing credit proposals to be reviewed by credit approving authoritiesContinuously monitor financial performance, business/management changes, industry/market developments impacting clients' business etc and utilization of credit facilities, to ensure generation of projected revenue for an acceptable level of risk. Analysis of quarterly financial statements and periodic meetings with clients were essential functions in the monitoring process. Ensure that credit facilities comply with local laws/regulations, Central Bank guidelines, Foreign funding institution guidelines and the Bank's policies on credit etc Maintain compliance with credit guidelines to ensure that customer and limits are adhered to, excesses are closely monitored and proper reporting is undertakenResponsible for collectively achieving laid down performance targets in terms of portfolio revenue and growthLiaising with various business and support units of the bank with respect to various banking needs of portfolio clients Support other business units in need of credit resources for FES, Corporate Card, Trade and Treasury limits in order to enhance revenue to the bank

Underwent comprehensive training in key business and support units of the bank covering a wide range of knowledge and skill areasAreas of Training Retail Banking - Gained experience on branch operations, internal controls and retail level customer handling. Trade Services - Gained experience in the bank's centralized Trade Services Department on Import and Export procedures and methods of payment in International Trade. Corporate Banking - Gained experience on preparation of credit proposal, products offered by bank to the corporate clients, credit risk management techniques, bank's lending policies and customer handling Treasury Management - Gained experience in the bank's treasury department on foreign exchange markets, domestic money market and the fixed income securities market. The training also involved gaining knowledge of various structured financial products such as Asset Securitizations, Commercial Papers and hedging products. Duties and responsibilities; Routine customer care functions (i.e. handling customer inquiries/complaints, balance transfers, fund transfers etc.)Monitoring of credit card accounts and identifying delinquent accountsTaking remedial actions against identified overdue accounts which include preparing & sending letters, calling/ visiting/ locating customers to obtain payments, filing cases, and representing the Bank at mediation boards/ Court of Law.Handling other operational functions of credit card accounts such as standing instructions, renewals, limit enhancements, cheque payments/ returns, CRIB report maintenance, preparation of monthly reports, updating records of customers, co-coordinating with other departments/ branches/ banks etc.
