Designed and evaluated multiple innovative and existing milling equipment using Discrete Element Method (DEM)

• Developed and simulated a soil-tool interaction model using Discrete Element Method (DEM) and Multibody Dynamic (MBD) coupling• Calibrated a DEM soil model by performing lab tests, statistical analysis, and optimization• Designed, instrumented, and executed an innovative experiment for validation of the DEM model• Co-managed a team of 5 people to set up and run an experiment for a cultivator wear study• Collected and analyzed data for evaluating wear characteristics of cultivator sweeps• Performed standard tests for soil characterization including triaxial and direct shear test• Presented a poster about "simulation of soil-tool interaction using DEM-MBD coupling" at the Annual International Meeting of American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineering (ASABE)• Mentored 4 undergraduate research assistants to develop research skills
