HarmonProject - Circadian clock is a timekeeper mechanism that functions in nearly all organisms to coordinate metabolic & physiological functions to extrinsic factors such as seasonal changes involving light and temperature-driven changes. My role in the research project is to identify circadian clock-associated genes in maize using genomic technologies such as microarray and to derive information about role of rhythmic genes in clock-associated metabolic functions. In addition, we are also using candidate quantitative PCR-based approach to understand function of clock and other candidate genes in flowering time responses in corn.
