I am a Disease Surveillance Officer at the World Health Organization (WHO), where I collaboratively work with district teams to monitor and respond to outbreaks of Poliomyelitis and other vaccine-preventable diseases. I use public health informatics tools and methods to collect, analyze, and disseminate data on disease trends, risks, and interventions. With over seven years of experience in the public health field, I have contributed to several initiatives and projects that aim to improve health outcomes and equity in resource-poor settings. I supported the polio eradication program in Pakistan as a Polio Eradication Officer, where I helped coordinate and implement immunization campaigns, surveillance activities, and routine immunization activities. I also served as an Immunization Officer, where I facilitated the delivery and evaluation of routine and supplementary immunization services. I have recently completed a Master of Public Health (MSPH) degree at the Health Services Academy, with a focus on disease surveillance. I am passionate about finding solutions to address the complex and interrelated challenges of health service delivery, health infrastructure, and community perspective on health. I am also keen on learning from and networking with other public health professionals and stakeholders, and applying evidence-based and data-driven approaches to inform decision-making and policy-making.
