Community Engagement Coordinator
CurrentThe Community Engagement Coordinator serves as a community leader and is a face and voice for PPNNE. The position is responsible for a variety of community outreach and education activities that directly support the priorities and goals set by PPNNE’s Public Affairs departments. This role requires initiative as well as a passion for reproductive and sexual rights, an ability to relate well to people, work efficiently as a team member, and be able to work independently. The CEC role:- Nurtures community collaborations that promote community partnership, prioritizing support for BIPOC, LGBTQAIP+ people, youth, and disabled people/people with disabilities. - Conducts community outreach by planning and participating in strategic, high impact activities such as health fairs, school, community forums, and college and community events. - Supports existing student advocacy organizations at local colleges/universities. - Implements and nurtures 501c3 programs such as healthy neighborhood canvasses, health center advocacy programs, speakers’ bureau cultivation, outreach promoting PPNNE services, healthy democracy and or voter registration activities, and coalition work. - Coordinates and supports all sexual education programing, including providing medically accurate, comprehensive, age-appropriate information on topics including, but not limited to family planning, contraception, abortion, human sexuality, sexually transmitted infections, sexual orientation, gender identity, and Planned Parenthood services. - Facilitates tri-state virtual high school peer education programs, parent programs, and community partner trainings.- Understands and assists in implementing grant program requirements for community education, organizing, and outreach in the communities we serve. - Works with state Action Fund (501c4) Organizing teams to develop and foster an effective pipeline for volunteer leadership.- Supports electoral activities as needed.
