I am Sa-de Monique Brown, also known as Intiworks, an African American female artist and librarian. I graduated from Moore College of Art and Design as an Illustrator and later from Drexel University as a Librarian. Residing in West Philadelphia, I share my home with my plants, including theee affectionately named Bob, dot and Enzo ( if you know the reference leave a comment)Currently, I work as a Librarian cataloger at the Free Library of Philadelphia. Outside of work, I am a mentor, avid cyclist in Philly, and video game enthusiast, and artist. My artistic lifelong projects include, a graphic novel; telling the tale of a girl who must save her home and the world of Everonce lest the omniverse is destroyed, a borad game about the world if Everonce, and finally Obscure Origins works of art that reflects a journey of resilience and creativity in a neurodivergent world, exploring creatures and worlds that embody these themes.My path as an artist and neurodivergent individual has presented many profound challenges, yet I have emerged as a beacon of perseverance. Through Obscure Origins, I aim to uplift and empower others, using my journey as inspiration for social change. My art challenges traditional notions of design and artistic expression, probing the connection between neurodivergence, art, and trauma in the subconscious. Once realized, this project will be a transformative journey for us all, celebrating the diversity of human thought and imagination, one obscure creature and fantasy world at a time.
