The ancient concept of healing has survived thousands of years of our evolution and withstood the ripples of modern technology, solely due to its strongest foundation: human connection. Only a select few grow up with the history, experience, and passion to connect with people and remedy. Especially in today's world, anyone can become a physician, but only a handful have the capability to heal a person.Growing up in the diverse Greater Los Angeles communities as a first-generation Sri Lankan-American opened my eyes to the disparities in healthcare for all demographics, communication being one of them. Having a rushed and monetized system of care has unfortunately left many with a quick fix and no emotional assurance to support it. I can definitely say that my upbringing and personal experiences had a big part in teaching me the values of patience and trust to build that sentimental connection amongst others. The next step was to build a rewarding career that matched my morals and aspirations. My early adoration for the sciences eventually pushed me to pursue a Bachelor's of Science in Biochemistry. It took careful research during those four years to find a field that checked off everything that I wanted to represent. I was fortunate enough to discover pharmacy through work and volunteering, and realize how it aligned with my passion to the chemical world and my passion to heal others through practice and emotion.Pursuing a PharmD encourages a more direct and intimate impact to the community and to the world. With it, I plan to revitalize healthcare into an institution in which we take our time to rebuild the trust of our patients, ensuring them that our end-goal is to heal them, not just to treat.Welcome to my LinkedIn!
