Main topic: Swift energy storage devices for a clean futureDevelopment of innovative energy storage devices for a clean future based on ferroelectric and carbon nanotube electrodes.● Contribution to the conception, design and execution of research to address defined problems.● Investigation and development of carbon and ferroelectric-based materials for on-chip storage applications.● Designed, performed, and evaluated laboratory experiments on the material (XRD, XPS, EDX, and SEM) and device level (electrical characterization).● Results achieved: Secured a €200K proof-of-concept funding to develop novel on-chip storage devices.

Main topic: 2D-based optical sensorsConducting research on CVD growth and liquid phase exfoliation of 2D materials and their applications with the focus of optical sensors.● Responsible for the development and electrical characterization of 2D-based optical sensors for the detection of different wavelengths of light. The experience consisted in testing different geometrical configurations and materials, to compare them and to select the best candidates in terms of sensitivity. ● Conducted electrochemical characterization of WS2 flakes for energy storage applications.● Results achieved: Development of a homemade CVD setup and liquid phase exfoliation process for 2D material. 4 scientific publications, 2 of which as first-author. Winner of best student award.
