Sade Thomas has graduated from THE Fort Valley State University in Biology with a concentration in Health Sciences. She has a year's worth of research studying extending the shelf-life of strawberries. This research was funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF). She has presented this research project at Fort Valley State University Student Symposium. She has been on the Dean's List in 2017 and a Honors Convocation Honoree in 2017 and 2018. She has been apart of Toast Masters, The National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS), and Minority Association for Pre-Medical Students (SNMA-MAPS). Sade Thomas is a current graduate student at Kennesaw State University studying Integrative Biology. She is in Dr. Martin Hudson's lab studying ceh-27 and the large deletion allele affects C. elegans during embryonic development. Sade is a Bridges scholar, NIH funded, which helped with her professional development and transition into a PhD program. Additionally, Sade has presented her research at ABCRMS in the graduate symposium to network with other student scientists. Recently, Sade has been accepted to The University of Florida in Microbiology and Cell Science PhD program starting in the Fall 2024.
