The UNIDO is implementing a European Union (EU) funded project titled “EU – Sri Lanka Trade-Related Assistance for Increasing Small and Medium Size Enterprise (SME) Trade Competitiveness in Regional and EU Markets.” One of the four expected results of the project is enhanced sector competitiveness to improve access to EU and regional markets. My role is to provide technical strategic support to strengthen the capacity of SMEs along the Spices & Concentrates and Processed Foods & Beverages Value Chains to apply for technical standards, food safety systems, quality systems, and to improve capacities on packaging and labeling according to EU and regional market requirements. I’m also in charge of implementing Geographical Indication (GI) for the first time in Sri Lanka with this project with Cinnamon industry as a pilot case. I handle the project’s procurement process and public communication since I joined.Achievements Launched the application at the EU for Ceylon Cinnamon Geographical Indication (GI) by organizing the Cinnamon value chain stakeholders, defined the specifications, control plan and traceability system. Launched Export Compliance Program (XCP) for SMEs.  Developed Monitoring tool for XCP and project operations. Developed Security plan as a project warden as per UNDSS security advises Published a Technical Document on “Farm to Customer Traceability Solution Blueprint” Published a Report on my support provided to develop Legal Framework to register Geographical Indication in Sri Lanka together with UNIDO International GI Legal Expert.

• Act as OHRD liaison with all donors and coordinate meetings with donors and OHRD and Stakeholders• Provide strategic input to extending collaborative partnerships with current donors, revitalizing former funding arrangements, and maintaining strong productive working relationships with all donors.• Identify opportunities for new key partnerships within the OHRD Network and enhance existing ones.• Supports the development of MOU and other agreements with donor organizations• Lead the financial and commercial negotiations with donors.• Produce annual funding analysis and prepare future strategy documents (to include identification of new opportunities, donors and multi-year funding requirements.• Monitor, track, coordinate and report on all financial information flows for OHRD including OHRD’s annual work plan budget.• Liaise with project partners and sub-contractors on financial and contractual matters.• Advise and sit on selection panels for key staff.• Work with the OHRD Chairman to oversee the organization the project launches and other OHRD events.• Coordinate work, delivery and information sharing within OHRD• Devise strategic and management tools for the achievement of OHRD objectives over the long-term

Commonwealth Youth Council is the world’s largest and most diverse youth-led organization. It is the recognized voice of the 1.2 billion young people of the Commonwealth and it provides a framework for youth-led development initiatives. It was established by Commonwealth Heads of Government within the terms of Article X111 of the Commonwealth Charter. I served as a director and Trustee of the Commonwealth Youth Council which is registered as UK company law in the UK from September 2014 to March 2016. During my service, I was able to raise more than 90,000 Sterling Pounds to the council.• Monitoring and advising on the CYC financial viability.• Preparing of timely and accurate monthly management accounts and reports for fellow executives and Commonwealth Secretariat.• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the CYC’s accounting records and financial systems.• Preparation of budgets, forecasts and projects plans and continued monitoring & review of performance against them to enable robust reporting of variances to the executives and third-party stakeholders.• Financial management & control.• Identified appropriate potential partners for the CYC and build, sustain and manage the CYC’s partnerships and more.• Overseeing monthly processing of payroll and payments to employees.• Formed a potential stakeholder panel for the CYC.• Raised more than 90,000 £ in the first year. Responsible for the execution of electrical maintenance activities, as scheduled by the Electrical Maintenance Manager in a safe, efficient and timely manner and in compliance with environmental requirements to maximize reliability and minimize costs. Handles Safety Team Meetings and ensures all work is completed in a safe and efficient manner. Responsible for task training of subordinates on any and all equipment to be used during the execution of daily work, pre-shift inspections and documentation of inspections. Ensures all work orders are completed timely, accurately, and tracks that parts are accounted for properly. Provides input to head of Electrical Department for plant capital and operating plan.
