Growing up I always knew that I wanted to help others; I just did not know how I wanted to. Seeing others succeed brings me joy and in my senior year of high school I got the opportunity to help someone else succeed by tutoring them. During my time tutoring one of my peers I realized that my calling was teaching. In my first year of college I tried teaching in the high school setting, but knew I wanted to have a greater impact on one's development and that is when I figured out that the elementary setting was the place for me. Throughout college I have been given opportunities to do field work in elementary classrooms and fell in love with what my future will hold. The joy I found in helping a child succeed led me to get a job as an assistant teacher at one of my local YMCA's, to then my student teaching position at Klein Elementary School, and then will eventually lead me to having my own classroom filled with minds ready to mold so that all their dreams come true.
