At Everyman, I have gained knowledge of team building, communication and dealing with the general public. There are 5 main roles, the first role is concierge which is receptionist based which involves meeting and greeting customers. Checking people's tickets digitally, printing tickets and finding bookings on the system. I had to educate people on the main aims of everyman and what everyman's purpose is. I explain what makes this business so excellently individualistic compared to other cinemas, giving people well rounded background knowledge before they enter the premises. The second role would be serving the general public, this takes place within the foyer and the screens, which involves many social skills and time management skills. When serving in screens, we often do screen announcements as well, which involves the server to introduce the movie, notifying everyone of what we do and do not permit and wishing them a pleasant movie experience.The third role is hosting, which acts as a second stage of security verification, where tickets are checked once again on the main floor. The fourth role is drinks and food run which involves concentration and observation, as you have to quickly find trays with the correct items to take to the correct screen number and seats. A good memory and balance are key, in order to remember the seats, the food is being delivered to and not to drop heavy trays in the process. Finally, the fifth job, is bartending, which includes the preparation of drinks and snacks under timed conditions e.g., making cocktails, milkshakes, popcorn, sundaes ext. quickly and efficiently.

I had many roles at The Cosy Club, which included waiting on tables, drinks runs and table planning and design. I enjoyed the creative aspect of being part of a new store opening and learnt a lot about hospitality and delivering a good customer experience. I’ve become more accustomed with multi-tasking and communicating under pressure.
