Responsible for leading and managing the nursing activities of the medical-surgical ward of the hospital, ensuring complete care and professional service in accordance with the hospital policies. Following are the major activities and duties:• Planning and implementation of the nursing care plans and reviewing and evaluating its effectiveness on a regular basis to every patients• Planning for patient discharge from hospital and liaising with community nurses and social workers if necessary• Assess patient’s vitals and perform venipuncture, IV insertion, administer medications, injections, intravenous infusions or blood product transfusions• Responsible for routine investigation of the patient and care procedures such as tracheostomy care and suctioning, NG tube feeding, performing 12 lead EKG and catheter insertions• Assist doctors with invasive and non-invasive procedures• Check and keep records of supplies, equipment and instruments (sterilized and non-sterilized)• Provide comprehensive nursing care for pre and post-surgery surgical patients
