I commenced my working life as a staff journalist with a community newspaper in WA. In my time as a journalist and then subsequent Editor, I worked within the community to highlight equity, access and injustices. Like most others I supported myself through university by working within the hospitality industry. This provided real exposure to customer needs and the challenges that one faces in meeting those demands.Building on my experience garned from both fields I moved into policy development, working for the WA Attorney General. Some of the areas I focused on included, implementing the Stopping Logging in Old Growth Forests policy as well supporting the changes recommended from the Lesbian and Gay Law Reform Committee in Western Australia. I shifted these learnings into a broader range of areas of interest that included the environment, heritage and social justice within the Department of Premier and Cabinet over the following years.I now bring my experience to establishing my own consulting company, 42 - Solutions to work with the gamut of organisations across Western Australia to improve access to, and the delivery of, services as to improve outcomes for the community.Previous to this appointment I was General Manager, Planning & Partnerships at Perth Central & East Metro Medicare Local, and drove the organisations Comprehensive Needs Assessment, the Strategic Plan, Flexible Fund Plan and the Annual Plan, all which were signed off by the Department of Health. And previous to that appointment I was the Deputy CEO of Bentley-Armadale Medicare Local.As Principal Advisor at WA General Practice Network I was responsible for strategic policy, government relations, and drove the transition within the Health Reform agenda.I recently resigned from the Board of the WA AIDS Council, which I was on for ten years and Chairperson for the last 4 which allowed me to contribute back to the community in a practical and meaningful way.Specialties: Change & Operational Management, Governance & Quality Improvement.Strategic Planning & Policy Development, Primary Health Care, Project Management.
