My undergraduate studies have provided me with a solid foundation in plant & soil science, ecology, environmental justice, and mycology. My research interests lie in understanding how to use plants, soil, and fungi to innovate sustainable solutions that will reduce the negative effects of climate change. During my undergraduate studies, I worked with Dr. Amber Ulseth in her stream ecology lab, I have gained experience with fieldwork and lab-based data collection. For example, I have collected and processed water samples for nutrient analysis from a local stream focusing on long-term monitoring in association with quantifying carbon dynamics. My participation in the student environmental alliance, MANRRS, UBUNTU, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Evolve, and the Plant & Soil Science Club honed my skills in scientific communication, learning new sustainability methods, leadership, and networking. I am an ambitious individual with a strong work ethic and a desire to learn. I am confident in my ability to learn new techniques and contribute meaningfully to the research team.
