Ran chemical tests on each one to optimize power output of the battery. Tested various arrangements of boosters and circuits to allow battery to light and charge simultaneously. New design outputted 45% more power. Improved functional ease of device and optimized design for manufacturing.

• Worked under Dr. Aymerick Eudes, deputy director of the Cell Wall Engineering Group, at the Joint BioEnergy Institute using novel gene splicing techniques to improve biomass digestibility of arabidopsis for fuel production. • Learned about the funding structure and grant application process of large scale scientific research. Sat on meeting that discussed plans on how to source funding and balance interests of both private and public funding streams. • Conducted literature reviews for Dr. Eudes to inform him about new advancements in the field.
