At TU Delft, I am developing a motion planning and prediction model for autonomous vehicles in microsimulation. The goal of my research is to achieve a more realistic picture of mixed traffic of autonomous vehicles and human-driven vehicles in order to evaluate the impacts of autonomous vehicles on traffic safety and efficiency, as well as the environment and society.I am also participating in the EU-funded Hi-Drive project, which aims to deploy and evaluate state-of-the-art Automated Driving (AD) technologies across European countries.

In this role, I am contributing to the European flagship project, Hi-Drive, in different work packages, including:- Data Requirements: Defining the data required from autonomous vehicle operations and test tracks for traffic safety, efficiency, and environmental impact assessment.- Methodology: Developing methodologies for assessing the impacts of autonomous vehicles after their market introduction. This includes traffic safety, efficiency, and environmental impacts.- Effects Evaluation: Implementing different methods including micro and macro simulations for assessing the impacts of autonomous vehicles for different penetration scenarios across European countries.

The TULIPS consortium will contribute to the transition to low-carbon mobility and enhance current sustainability actions at airports for the next four years by developing and implementing innovative solutions, supported by the EU with €25 million in funding. The funding is part of the European Green Deal.

I was managing a research project that aimed to study human mobility patterns using anonymized data. We use different packages in Python (e.g., Dask, Pandas, GeoPandas, NetworkX, SciKit-Learn, NumPy, SciPy, KeplerGL, etc), as well as QGIS and database management tools, to anonymously study users' behavior and classify travelers into different activity groups. Also, we address accessibility and equity issues by identifying major activity centers and measuring the required travel distance for different user groups in the city.

I participated in several transportation planning projects including Iran's Transportation Masterplan. I contributed to preparing demand databases for different modes of travel nationwide. Also, I used PTV-VISUM for modeling Iran's roadway transportation network together with one of my colleagues at TRL.
