Critical Care Paramedics in New York (USA) treat critical patients with the same techniques as a team of intensive care unit clinicians, except we perform these procedures in uncontrollable & unpredictable environments and mostly on our own or with a driver or technician for assistance. For critical patients: intensive care treatment and therapy is delivered using advanced life support skills such as advanced airway establishment (operating respiratory ventilator settings) while administering antibiotic, blood product, paralytic or vasopressor drips. • Treating patients in New York during the COVID-19 pandemic alongside a clinical care team at an urgent care facility with Northwell Health• Triaging and performing point-of-care testing to assist in clinical decision making including EKGs, phlebotomy and ordering on-site x-ray imaging• Assisting in surgical procedures including foreign body removal and suturing

10 out of 1000+ applicants were selected for the Bamboo U X Kenzo Parfums Scholarship award to join the Comprehensive Bamboo Build and Design Course in Bali, Indonesia. Invited to stay at the bamboo & permaculture site for 11 days to:• Develop and design a bamboo construction project from the ground up• Work hands-on with the most talented bamboo craftsmen in the world• Learn structural, architectural and engineering systems of bamboo

• Exploring viable alternative construction materials, focusing on sustainable design and architecture that connects people to their environment and improves their happiness and wellbeing• Establishing a social business using bamboo to build temporary and permanent homes for displaced families in Ecuador

Participated fully in the I-Corps Curriculum, which provided real-world, hands-on, immersive learning about what it takes to successfully transfer knowledge into products and processes that benefit society. The I-Corps Curriculum is beyond writing a research paper, a business plan or NSF proposal. The entire I-Corps Team is engaged with industry; talking to customers, partners and competitors; encountering the uncertainty and excitement of creating successful innovations; getting out of the university laboratory to explore the commercial potential is what the effort is about.
