Global Health Strategies is an international consulting firm specializing in advocacy and communications on global public health issues. As a Senior Director, I manage global consultant teams to provide strategic counsel to clients on how to use advocacy, communications and convenings to elevate their priorities on global policy agendas and achieve global health impact faster and more equitably. I have worked with clients including the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Johnson & Johnson, the World Health Organization and UNICEF on critical global health issues, including COVID-19/pandemic preparedness and response, innovation and R&D, food systems, and infectious diseases.

•Piloted FoodCorps in Meriden Public Schools and initiated a nutrition education program at 3 schools by engaging principals, teachers, school food service staff, and community members•Develop and deliver age- and culturally-appropriate in-school and enrichment program lesson plans for 8 classes/week focused on nutrition, gardening, and cooking•Secured grant funding and oversaw implementation of smarter lunchroom cafeteria redesigns at two elementary schools•Assist with sourcing local food, developing new recipes in the cafeteria, and conducting taste tests to introduce students to fresh healthy food and utilize the cafeteria as an educational space

•Coordinated program trainings and communication with clinicians from over 120 countries through in person trainings, training videos, and monthly program newsletters•Planned and organized communications strategy for various social media outlets, the OPENPediatrics blog, and Wordpress website •Represented OPENPediatrics at international health conferences, including past presentations in Dubai, Vienna, and Toronto, as well as presentations to the CEO and CFO of Boston Children’s Hospital•Researched and applied for grant opportunities, including OPENPediatrics' successful application to The Tech Awards•Managed relationship between OPENPediatrics and technical partner IBM through weekly meetings to discuss program issues and priorities

• Worked with 10 JSI Project Coordinators to manage the accounts of various international public health projects • Participated in the writing and production of five proposals to manage projects for donors such as USAID, DFID, and the Gates Foundation • Conducted research and completed literature reviews for upcoming projects in the Philippines and Mesoamerica

• Conducted patient intake and helped new patients register for health insurance as sole intern at Pine Street Inn Men’s homeless shelter’s medical clinic • Learned computer system for scheduling patients, assigning patients to nurses, and verifying health insurance • Gained valuable patient interaction skills and insight into the difficulties of caring for an underserved population • Took on individual projects such as improving the image of Pine Street’s stay in bed program

• Set up 4-day long educational camps at rural primary schools along with conducting outreach projects at orphanages and refugee camps with World Camp, Inc to empower Malawians through education • Taught students in grades 6-8 about HIV transmission and prevention, environmental sustainability, and gender equality • Engaged in valuable cultural exchanges through daily interactions with our Malawian students, village members, and translators
