About Julio Saez Rodriguez

I am interested in developing and applying computational methods to analyze 'omics' data to understand cellular networks and their deregulation in disease, with the aim of applying this knowledge to improve treatments. The current focus of our research group (www.saezlab.org) on the use of single-cell and spatial technologies to understand multi-cellular communication. While our previous focus has been on cancer, we are increasingly working on kidney and heart diseases.As Head of Research at EMBL-EBI, I am responsible for setting the vision, strategy and scientific direction of the research taking place at the institute.
