In this role, I lead the charge in commercial correspondence, notice and claim submissions while skillfully handling two ongoing dispute cases.Some of my key achievements in this role include:● Revamped project commercial and financial control upon entering the company.● Navigated a demanding client relationship, ensuring project completion within deadlines and exceeding company margin objectives.● Implemented robust project financial control measures, demonstrating effective management capabilities.Project- I successfully managed the Kings Road Upgrade Project, overseeing two phases (A & B) involving full road rehabilitation, concrete drainage, conduit construction, footpath development, and asphalt work across multiple villages. In addition to coordinating the self-performance of works, I effectively supervised subcontractors for tasks such as guardrail installation and signage. As the Commercial Lead, I provided critical updates on Candy (CCS) and internal financial cost reports, conducted quantitative risk analysis, and maintained the risk register.

Kampala

In this role, I provided support to the project manager.Some of my key accomplishments included: ● Successfully recouped €1.2 million in withheld claims.● Resolved payment dispute for the High-Capacity drain by reviewing the submission, collaborating with the Engineer, and achieving an acceptable solution. Recovered an additional €560k and secured an Extension of Time.Projects & Contracts: Capacity Improvement of the Kampala Northern Bypass Project (CIKNBP) - € 175m (EUR)I had the privilege of leading a strategic infrastructure project focused on alleviating traffic congestion. This involved overseeing a comprehensive road upgrade spanning 17.5km and the construction of 6 grade separated interchanges. I took charge of managing the daily contractual correspondence, entitlement of the Contractor, change management, and various claim scenarios. Additionally, I closely monitored costs, risks, and production achieved by the production teams. One of my key achievements was implementing an effective process for withheld claims, resulting in the successful recovery of previously withheld amounts for completed activities.

Limpopo

As the Construction Manager, I oversaw a challenging rural road project to skillfully manage and mitigate tribal factions, ensuring smooth project implementation.One of my key achievements was-● Successfully recovered R 17,000,000 (approximately $944k) in damages through notice and claim submissions after project termination due to non-payment by the Client.Projects & Contracts: RAL/T866/2016 Upgrade of Sekhukhune District Road in Limpopo (20km) - R 194000000 ($ 13.85M)As the Construction Manager for the Sekhukhune District Road Upgrade, I took charge of site control, supply chain management, resource allocation, and programming. One of my key accomplishments was implementing comprehensive project control measures, ensuring adherence to Quality Assurance, HSEC requirements, production targets, and contractual obligations. I actively fostered collaboration and issue mitigation by engaging with village elders and tribe leaders through monthly feedback meetings. Additionally, I mentored a team of local engineers and quantity surveyors, sharing project best practices and supporting their professional growth. Lastly, I served as the project's focal point for monthly cost reporting and analysis, overseeing all aspects of project control.

In this role, I surveyed sites to determine material needs, and accurately managed inventories and budgets. Moreover, I collaborated with contractors, architects, engineers, and public agencies to complete projects within timeline limitations and budget constraints.My key achievement in this role was-● Meticulously ensured that completed projects surpassed approved time, quality, and cost estimates.Projects & Contracts: Shanduka Mine - Wonderfontein ProjectI was recruited from Liviero Civil to take on the crucial role of managing revenue recovery and overseeing the dispute resolution process. During my tenure, I successfully guided the company through the business rescue process in collaboration with the Business Rescue practitioner. As a key leader, I spearheaded the revenue recovery efforts, ensuring maximum financial recuperation. Additionally, I effectively managed the FIDIC DAB process, working closely with Legal Consultants. Through meticulous re-measurement of works and skillful negotiation, I achieved a successful agreement on the final account with the consultant quantity surveyor.

In this role, I conducted comprehensive measurements from drawings and on-site to compile the Interim Payment Claim. Additionally, I pre-planned and determined Total Cost to Complete, ensuring effective project management. I also developed precise Cashflow and Budget forecasts and conducted monthly measurement and payment processes for subcontractors, promoting efficient financial management.Some of my key achievements in this role include:● Implemented Monthly Activity based costing for accurate financial tracking.● Issued timely notices of any 'Compensation Events' (NEC3) to mitigate risks.● Implemented rigorous control over mass materials, ensuring stock accountability and substantiating losses.● Drafted initial Sub-contract Agreements, ensuring favorable terms and conditions.Projects & Contracts: Ingula Dam Braamhoek - Value: R1.2B (Approximately $ 66M)I had the privilege of being recruited internally from Murray and Roberts (Concor) to take on the role of Senior Quantity Surveyor, leading and managing a team of three Junior Quantity Surveyors. Together, we successfully navigated the project and guided the commercial team to achieve a seamless final account. The project scope encompassed a range of essential elements, including RCC Concrete for the dam wall, instrumentation, bulk water systems, drainage, mass earthwork fill, and rip rap.
