I mentored a diverse group of students from various faculties and academic years throughout both semesters and summer breaks. This role encompassed a wide array of responsibilities, including helping students with their writing skills, offering valuable learning tips, and providing general advice to help them on their university journey.In addition, I helped host an interactive Zoom workshop for exchange students hailing from partner universities. These engaging sessions, with over 50 participants, centred around clarifying exams, navigating the UK university landscape, and instilling confidence in their higher education pursuits.I helped run the academic support 'drop-in' sessions over both semester's exams periods, collaborating closely with the Revisions and Exams Department. I noted down the most popular revision resources making sure we had enough for students, and additionally took the initiative to suggest improvements that enabled better tracking and insightful metrics while adhering to GDPR guidelines. These data-driven insights substantiated the success of the program and supported its continuation in the following academic year.I recently presented my experience with helping students at the Higher Education Development (ALDHe) conference alongside the University of Surrey Academic Support Team. Addressing a large audience, I shared valuable insights and advice on enhancing student engagement, drawing interest and inquiries from academics representing other institutions.
