The 5- day course, Setting Out For Construction, has been continually adapted in line with employer’s needs and industry changes and has developed and excellent reputation within the industry.We are currently working with colleges,universities and construction industry stakeholders to raise the standard of engineers entering the industry and to alleviate the current skills shortage. I have worked in the construction industry as a Civil Engineer for last 25 years, experiencing many different perspectives working for Clients, Designers and Contractors and Local Authority. Previous employers include Costain, Glasgow City Council Land Services and JMP Consulting.In 2006 I set up my first business and carried out practical and communication skills training for construction companies, local authorities, colleges and universities.My broad experience and drive for new challenges and worthwhile projects resulted in the creation of up4site in 2010, a Community Interest Company with the aim of helping those who are furthest from the labour market get a foot on the ladder into the construction industry.As well as providing consultancy, training design and executive coaching I deliver practical setting out training, leadership and other personal development training.
